Energy advantage

    Xinjiang is one of China’s longest sunshine provinces/regions, with an annual sunshine of 2600 hours to 3400 hours, annual solar radiation per square meter of 5000 MJ to 6490 MJ, second only to that of the Tibetan Plateau. Hosting numerous passes, Xinjiang ranks first in wind resources, with average annual effective wind energy of 10,800 MJ/square meter. Solar power and wind power are free from environmental pollution and therefore very promising. Asia’s largest wind power plant Dabancheng wind power plant have been put into operation. Development and utilization of these new energy sources will provide sufficient driving force to future economic development of Xinjiang.
